cFocus Software seeks a Technical Writer to join our program supporting the United States Air Force (USAF). This position is on-site in Linthicum Heights, MD. This position requires an Active TS/SCI clearance.
Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • B.S. Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience writing and editing technical documentation for enterprise IT systems or services.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear procedures, guides, and training content.
  • Experience interviewing subject matter experts and validating documentation against actual workflows.
  • Proficiency with word processing, document styles, templates, tables, and revision tools.
  • Experience managing review comments, document versions, repositories, and publication workflows.
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and service support terminology.
  • Ability to organize requirements, technical source material, and evidence into traceable deliverables.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to meet coordinated deadlines
Duties:
  • Gather documentation requirements, interview subject matter experts, and organize technical information for the intended user or reviewer.
  • Develop and maintain user manuals, training materials, quick-reference guides, and instructions for Government-approved systems and tools.
  • Draft and update troubleshooting guides and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) supporting Tier 0, Tier 1, and Tier 2 service desk operations.
  • Document technical designs, system configurations, interfaces, integration workflows, and as-built architectures in coordination with engineering teams.
  • Support documentation of the Collect, Analyze, Disseminate, Operationalize-Integrated Solution (CADO-IS) architecture under DoDAF or its successor framework.
  • Assist configuration management personnel with plans, procedures, baseline descriptions, revision histories, and traceable documentation updates.
  • Draft and maintain information management, knowledge management, and records management SOPs, procedures, publications, and forms for Government approval.
  • Develop training content for approved data governance, records management, and knowledge management processes with relevant subject matter experts.
  • Support cybersecurity teams in preparing technical evidence, procedures, and documentation for Authority to Operate (ATO), continuous ATO, and compliance activities.
  • Support documentation of system recovery procedures, Continuity of Operations Plans, and lessons from recovery testing.
  • Prepare assigned technical reports and program documentation, organizing source data and maintaining consistency with approved requirements and designs.
  • Edit documents for technical accuracy, clarity, grammar, spelling, formatting, terminology, and completeness; validate procedures with responsible technical personnel.
  • Coordinate review cycles, track comments and approvals, incorporate authorized revisions, and prepare final deliverables for Government review and acceptance.
  • Maintain controlled document versions, source references, and approved repository records; update affected content following system or process changes.
  • Apply required contractor authorship and security markings, follow approved information-handling procedures, and support documentation quality improvements.
