cFocus Software seeks a Technical Writer to join our program supporting the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) This position is remote. This position requires the ability a Public Trust clearance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience providing technical writing support in federal IT or cybersecurity programs.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting cybersecurity, privacy, or compliance programs.
  • Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, RMF, FISMA) preferred.
  • Experience producing executive-level and technical documentation.
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and editorial quality.
Duties:
 
  • Develop, edit, and maintain cybersecurity and privacy policies, procedures, standards, and guidance documents.
  • Edit and format RMF and A&A artifacts including SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, Continuous Monitoring Plans, and SOPs.
  • Support development of program plans, governance documentation, and operational playbooks.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with HHS, HRSA, NIST, and OMB requirements and standards.
  • Maintain document version control, configuration management, and approval workflows.
  • Support audits, OIG reviews, and external data calls through accurate documentation preparation.
  • Collaborate with ISSOs, A&A SMEs, GRC Analysts, and Program Management staff to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Develop cybersecurity and privacy communications including briefings, newsletters, fact sheets, and advisories.
  • Create executive-level presentations, dashboards, and reports for HRSA and HHS leadership.
  • Support development of cybersecurity and privacy awareness and role-based training materials.
  • Translate complex technical and regulatory content into clear, concise, audience-appropriate language.
  • Support HRSA cybersecurity outreach and internal communications initiatives.
  • Edit and format training materials, job aids, and reference guides.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across cybersecurity and privacy communications
