cFocus Software seeks a Software Test Automation Engineer to join our program supporting the United States Air Force (USAF). This position is on-site in Linthicum Heights, MD. This position requires an Active TS/SCI clearance.
Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • B.S. Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated tests for enterprise applications or services.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming applicable to the assigned test automation environment.
  • Experience with functional, integration, regression, and API testing and repeatable test execution.
  • Ability to integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and manage versioned test artifacts.
  • Ability to interpret requirements, define expected results, and maintain requirements-to-test traceability.
  • Experience investigating failures, documenting defects, verifying fixes, and evaluating test coverage.
  • Understanding of secure software delivery, configuration control, authorized test data, and environment management.
Duties:
  • Analyze approved requirements, technical designs, and acceptance criteria to define test scenarios, expected results, and automation priorities.
  • Develop and maintain automated functional, integration, regression, and smoke tests for assigned applications and services.
  • Create reusable test scripts, libraries, and execution workflows using approved tools and languages.
  • Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and provide results supporting release readiness decisions.
  • Develop and execute tests for Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), data-sharing interfaces, and approved cloud/on-premises integrations.
  • Validate data exchange, error handling, and application behavior under approved interface requirements and applicable interagency agreements.
  • Coordinate repeatable test environments and authorized test data with developers, administrators, and cybersecurity teams; maintain alignment with approved configurations.
  • Track test artifacts and configurations in version control and approved repositories; coordinate Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code support where applicable.
  • Execute tests, investigate failures, document reproducible defects, and coordinate triage with development teams. Retest fixes and assess regression impacts.
  • Maintain lifecycle traceability among requirements, test cases, results, defects, changes, and releases.
  • Support automated cybersecurity controls and pipeline guardrails; coordinate vulnerability scanning and remediation verification with cybersecurity personnel.
  • Validate application configurations and deployment changes against approved baselines; support testing before Government review and authorized production deployment.
  • Prepare test plans, procedures, execution reports, defect summaries, and release evidence. Supply technical records supporting RMF, ATO, and continuous ATO activities.
  • Evaluate coverage and automation reliability; improve maintainability and investigate inconsistent results.
  • Research and test approved opportunities for agentic AI or other AI capabilities in CI/CD; recommend options and support integration following Government approval.
  • Support incident investigation and corrective-action validation by supplying test results, application logs, and reproduction scenarios as directed.
