cFocus Software seeks a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our program supporting the United States Air Force (USAF). This position is on-site in Linthicum Heights, MD. This position requires an Active TS/SCI clearance.
Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • B.S. Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience in software quality assurance and testing of enterprise applications or services.
  • Ability to interpret requirements, develop test plans, and maintain test coverage and traceability.
  • Experience with functional, integration, regression, system, and API testing.
  • Experience documenting defects, supporting triage, verifying fixes, and analyzing quality trends.
  • Working knowledge of software development lifecycles, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated testing.
  • Understanding of configuration control, authorized test data, and repeatable test environments.
  • Ability to assess software deliverables and prepare clear test results and release readiness evidence.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills for coordinating technical teams
Duties:
  • Review requirements, designs, interfaces, and acceptance criteria for clarity, completeness, consistency, and testability; document gaps for resolution.
  • Develop and maintain software quality procedures, test plans, test cases, expected results, and requirements-to-test traceability.
  • Plan and execute functional, integration, regression, system, and exploratory testing for assigned applications and services.
  • Test Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), data exchanges, and integrations against Government-approved requirements and applicable interagency agreements.
  • Validate application workflows, data integrity, error handling, and configurations across approved on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Coordinate authorized test data and representative test environments with development, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.
  • Support automated testing and CI/CD quality checks; review execution results and identify coverage gaps or unreliable tests.
  • Record reproducible defects with supporting evidence, assess severity and mission impact, and coordinate triage and resolution with developers.
  • Verify fixes, perform regression testing, and track unresolved defects and residual risks for release readiness reviews.
  • Coordinate security testing, vulnerability remediation verification, and validation of Government-specified pipeline controls with cybersecurity personnel.
  • Maintain versioned test artifacts and auditable records linking requirements, tests, results, defects, configuration changes, and releases.
  • Review software deliverables and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to approved requirements and quality procedures.
  • Prepare test reports, quality metrics, defect summaries, and release recommendations; provide evidence for Government review and authorized deployment.
  • Support user acceptance activities and resolution of Government comments; provide technical test evidence for ATO and continuous ATO activities.
  • Analyze defect trends and causes, recommend preventive improvements, and support the program Quality Control Plan and corrective-action follow-through.
