Graphics Specialist
cFocus Software seeks a Graphics Specialist supporting the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS).This position is located in Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA, with the option for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and enrich cyber threat intelligence tailored to HHS and the HPH sector
- Produce intelligence products (IOCs, technical briefs, executive summaries) and deliver regular threat reports
- Manage IOC ingestion, categorization, correlation, and real-time alerting
- Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders; brief leadership on emerging threat.
- Develop visually compelling graphics, presentations, infographics, and other communication materials that convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Use tools such as Canva to create professional and polished designs quickly and efficiently.
- Design branding materials, logos, brochures, and reports, ensuring all deliverables are aligned with HHS branding guidelines and standards.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) to enhance design capabilities and produce advanced visual content.
- Develop and refine written content for communications materials, including reports, executive summaries, press releases, social media posts, and newsletters.
- Ensure all written content is accurate, engaging, and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate technical information into clear, accessible formats for both internal and external audiences.
- Create multimedia content, including graphics for videos, animations, and social media channels, to enhance engagement and reach.
- Utilize Canva to produce templates and quick-turnaround visual content for social media and internal communications.
- Support video editing and basic animation tasks using tools such as Adobe Premiere or similar software.
- Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to understand design needs, communication goals, and target audiences.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client requirements.
- Participate in client meetings and briefings to gather feedback, make recommendations, and adapt communications products accordingly.
- Ensure that all visual materials maintain consistency with the organization’s branding standards.
- Conduct quality control on all graphic and communication products, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high-quality output.
- Apply knowledge of Section 508 compliance to ensure that all visual and written products are accessible to individuals with disabilities, including adhering to best practices for visual and digital content accessibility.
- Contribute to the development of strategic communications plans to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of HHS projects.
- Provide creative input to improve the impact and reach of internal and external communications initiatives.
- Develop campaigns and communications strategies for both digital and traditional channels to target specific audiences effectively.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in graphic design, communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in creating a wide variety of graphic and communication products, including infographics, presentations, reports, and social media content.
- Experience working in Canva to create and manage design projects efficiently, especially in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) is optional but beneficial.
- Experience in coordinating with teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality visual communication products.
- Graphic Design: Advanced skills in Canva for creating polished visual content. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus but not mandatory.
- Communication Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to translate complex ideas into simple, engaging visuals and messages.
- Digital Media: Experience creating multimedia and digital content, including graphics for videos and animations.
- 508 Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of Section 508 compliance standards to ensure that all products are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail for reviewing visual and written communication products to ensure quality, accuracy, and accessibility.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple design and communication projects, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines.
